It all began with a vision to care for those in need...
In the 1970s, leaders of the Kansas-Nebraska Conference of the United Methodist Church saw a growing need in Topeka — a need for a safe, faith-based community where older adults could live with dignity, security, and compassion.
Inspired by their Christian calling to serve, they listened to the voices of seniors and their families who were searching for a place where care and community could come together. Rather than turn away from that need, they embraced it — and Aldersgate Village was born.
In 1979, Aldersgate Village welcomed its first residents, and from those early days, our mission has only grown stronger.
Though we've expanded our campus and services over the years, we’ve never lost sight of that original vision — to create a loving, nurturing home for seniors, where their spiritual, emotional, and physical needs are honored every day.
Today, more than 40 years later, Aldersgate Village continues to stand as a beacon of care, compassion, and Christian service. Our focus remains on putting people above profit, and we continue to reinvest into our community to enhance the lives of those we serve.

Many Ways to Give!
Good Samaritan Program
Established in 1947, the Good Samaritan Program provides funding to assist residents who outlive their resources. Thanks to this program, Aldersgate Village is proud that no resident has ever been asked to leave one of our communities based on their inability to pay.
Life Enrichment Programs
Life Enrichment Programs provide our valued residents with outlets to continue to grow as people. They also offer opportunities for stimulation and engagement to help our residents enjoy active and productive lives.
Vehicle Donation Program
Vehicle donation is a great way to support seniors in need in our communities. We accept all types of vehicles, running or not, including SUVs, trucks, motorhomes, RVs, and even boats.
The proceeds from the sale of each donated vehicle are used to support life enrichment programs for our residents.
